Tutorial how to make felt hearts for Valentine’s Day 2022/05/30

In Tempo di Festa we celebrate each event making it unique and special.

Therefore, we could not ignore Valentine’s Day in Brazil, celebration that takes place on the 12th of June in tribute to Saint Anthony of Padua (holy matchmaker saint of Brazil). In this country they have the custom to give flowers and chocolates to the person you love.

Materials:

  • Red felt
  • White yarn
  • Wadding
  • Balloon sticks
  • Needles and scissors
  • Hot silicon (or UHU type glue)
  • Foamy for artificial flowers
  • For the base: basket, recycled cans, candy, chocolates, etc.

Download the pattern for free, cut 2 units for each heart piece, join both parts with the yarn to two strands using a single stitch. When sewing, hide the beginning and the end of the craft towards the interior of the piece. As the heart is closing, fill with wadding and calculate the space so that the stick can be inserted into the heart and close the seam.

If you wish, place the hearts as they are in the pattern.

Place the hearts in your base of choice, I suggest using little baskets, watering cans or simple cans and to maintain the sticks in suspension insert a foamy for artificial flowers. To avoid letting this at sight, cover the synthetic raffia, moss, flowers, etc. and then over it place chocolates or candy.

This is the pattern, the hearts already include the seaming margin.

For this decoration I was inspired by the labels of chocolate bars, you can make an original gift to your loved one by wrapping a delicious chocolate.
