Tutorial to make a pincushion in the shape of a caravan 2022/05/17

Today I will show you how to elaborate a cute caravan that works for taking the sewing basics wherever you go, a cute little gesture to give away as a favor for outside parties.

Materials

• Felt in all colors you like
• Threads in the same tones
• Ribbon
• Cardboard
• Needle and scissors

You can vary the felt colors as you wish or coordinate them with the colors of your party. Download the pattern, transfer each piece of the model to a cardboard and with these patterns cut off each piece of the caravan, this method will help you make precise cuts.

Start embroidering each piece of the body of the caravan using a scallop stitch, use only one thread, this will give the finish finesse.

Once all the decorations are embroidered to the caravan (exteriors and interiors), join these pieces together by embroidering with a scallop stitch. Start embroidering in the tire area to hide the initial and last seams. When you get to the part where the front and back pieces of the caravan join, insert a piece of felt between them of 6.5 cm x 3.5 cm and embroider together the 3 pieces of felt.

The interior pieces (furniture) are cut as they come in the pattern and are adhered to the caravan by embroidering with a diverse type of stitches. Our pattern includes a bedside desk, an armchair, a floor mat, a shelf and luggage but you can change or add elements as you wish.

To close the caravan you can pass a ribbon as it is shown in these images or if you prefer, sew a little snap fastener.
