Recipe for an Oriental style dish 2016/09/30

 

Today I present an oriental style dish

Rice for 5 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice or insalata
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Soy sauce, as needed
  • Salt

Put water to boil. For each cup of rice, boil 1.5 liters of water

When the water starts boiling, add the rice and the whole garlic clove

Add a teaspoon of salt

Once the cooking time described in the rice package has passed, verify if it is cooked “al dente”, remove the garlic, drain and serve on a central plate or serve directly on individual plates

Vegetables 5 people

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 large zucchini
  • 200 grams of cauliflower
  • 200 grams of Broccoli
  • 200 grams of green beans
  • 1 Bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • ¼ cup of water

Cut in julienne the carrots, green beans, bell pepper and zucchini. Separate in little trees the broccoli and the cauliflower, even the trunk can be used cut in cubes

Chop the garlic and sauté in a Wok

If you do not have a Wok, you can use a casserole, the difference is that with the casserole you must cover the vegetables in order to get them cooked, at with the Wok this is not necessary

Add the onion and all the vegetables at the same time

Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of salt, and a little less than ¼ of a cup of water

Cover the casserole

When the zucchini is tender, the vegetables will be ready to serve

The vegetables can be served as a second appetizer or in the same plate with the rice; it will be very fun if you can serve this with chopsticks
