Recipe Strawberries in a Jar Dessert 2015/11/26

Today I will share with you a dessert which needs little preparation time

It does not require baking and it results charming for its presentation… the secret is in its simplicity

Ingredients for 6 medium portions

• 1 kg of strawberries
• 250 ml of cream
• Crunchy cookies, oatmeal or chocolate chip
• Sugar
• Empty jam jars
• Peppermint leaves for decoration optional

We wash the strawberries, cut them in small cubes, place them in a pan at medium heat with a little bit of water, after a light boil we add a little sugar until it incorporates, we turn the heat off and let it cool

We start placing the crushed cookies in a way that they cover the bottom

Them we add 500 grams of strawberries with cream; prepared with cream and sugar, then add the strawberry jam we have prepared, keep in the fridge until the moment of serving

According to the size of the jar we can incorporate layers of cookies or strawberries with cream; in the end I have placed a light layer of crushed cookies and to decorate the jar I have made a few laces with natural thread

The presentation of the dessert in jars works perfectly in a Shabby style party, a side from the strawberries, to give more color and variety, you can include other fruits like raspberries, peaches, cranberries, blackberries
