Nemo Decorations in Felt for Parties 2020/03/13

More than one girl or boy will surely love the decoration I present you, I share with you all the details to elaborate it in felt and decorate their special day

Materials

• Felt in colors: orange, white and black
• Thread in colors: orange, white and black
• Waddle
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
• UHU type glue
• Cardboard (like a cereal box)
• Clear plastic bottles

Print the pattern. The body of Nemo we will get measures 7 cm tall and 11.5 cm long (without the fins)

As the first step it is necessary to transfer the model pieces to a cardboard (like a cereal box) lining with a pen and strongly the silhouette of each of them, cut each piece indicating the color of the felt, these pieces are ‘molds’ that will help us cut the felt in an excellent way

We cut all the pieces and locate them to make sure we don’t miss one

The best finish for the felt is to sew using the festoon stitch, for that reason I have used it in every detail for Nemo, starting with the fins to have them ready when they need to be inserted

We take the pieces of the body and start sewing with white thread setting, always with the festoon stitch, the white felt of the tail, when changing to the black we change to the black thread and in the same way we change the thread accordingly to the color of the felt

We insert the top fin and we sew it again with the festoon stitch, here I show you how the stitches look from the front and back, the same thing happens with the lower fin

The only pieces that are glued are the ones that belong to the face, since it looks better with no stitches. To locate the pieces exactly, use the model and put it on top, place an eye and remove the paper holding the eye, it will stay in position, paste and repeat the same process with the other elements. The big fin I have pasted using just one drop of glue so it has flexibility

We fill the body well and the tail lightly, close with the same stitch

I have been gathering these clear containers where cookies come in to reuse them as if they where fish bowls, whether it is inside or outside, decorate with Nemo. For a party fill it with candies or little gifts

After the party each child will have a container to organize their colors, pencils or toys, I hope you’ve liked it as much as I did
