Mini Umbrella DIY Wedding Favors 25/07/2023

Have you heard the saying "Bride showered, lucky bride"?

Well, whether it's raining or sunny, today I show you a guide on how to make umbrellas that will serve as corsage, souvenirs, placeholders at weddings, bachelorette parties or parties with the theme of umbrellas. You can change the shades of each umbrella based on your event.

Materials

  • Bamboo branches
  • Tulle or lace in the color of your party
  • Small flowers
  • Thread and ribbons in the color of the tulle
  • Gold or silver thread
  • Hot glue
  • Sandpaper
  • Compass
  • Scissors, pencil and paper

We start practically from scratch, because we will have to collect bamboo branches, the branches of the foliage are the ones that we use for this activity, these are removed when maintenance is done to the gardens, and I mean the branches, not the trunk.

To collect the branches and also to cut the sections you don't need garden shears, just cut each section by pressing with your fingers very close to each knot. Easy!

Let the branches dry for a week, as these sticks will take on a yellow color over time and that will be their final color. Once dry, sand the ends in a round shape, this will prevent the ends from damaging anything.

The umbrella that I have made is 12 cm long, which is the approximate measure obtained from the sticks, although you could also make larger or smaller umbrellas. You can calculate the tulle of each stick with a compass or if the sticks are 12 cm the tulle circle should measure 20 cm in diameter. Place the pattern on the tulle with some pins so that the tulle does not move. If you fold the tulle you can cut several circles at the same time.

Place the tulle in the center of the upper part of the stick, with thread fix the upper part, do the same procedure on the lower part, just make sure that the tulle is well arranged taking the shape of an umbrella. Cover the threads with ribbon and hot silicone. You may notice that with this procedure we create a closed umbrella, but it is just as beautiful as an open one, don't you think?

Decorate with a flower and a bow. If it were a souvenir you can glue a magnet on the back so that it can stick to a metal surface, like the fridge. If it were a corsage, use special pins.

Small wedding or anniversary favor to customize with flowers and ribbons according to the color you choose for your event. Let yourself be inspired by our party kits dedicated to weddings and anniversaries.

Pleasure to serve at your party
