How to create a gift box pine tree for Christmas 2016/12/15

Today we will create a pine tree made of little gift boxes to decorate your home at Christmas where the whole family will be able to pitch in for its elaboration.

Materials

• Cardboard boxes, like the cereal boxes
• 2 Christmas gift paper sheets
• 5 meters of cellophane strips
• Thick cardboard
• Ruler and compass
• Scissors
• Pencil and glue

We will require a total of 44 little boxes, here I will show you the easiest way to create them

Now we will wrap all the little boxes using Scotch tape, in some of the gift boxes place cellophane strip ribbons

To curl the cellophane strip, place the strip between your finger and the scissor’s razor and stretch once or twice depending on the kind of curl you like the most

For the pine tree base we will need two thick cardboards, mark two circles of 20 cm of diameter each and paste them together, this to give firmness to the base

We wrap the base with the same Christmas gift paper sheets

We also wrap the bottom part

Now we will create 3 interior bases with the cereal cardboard boxes. The procedure is to cut two equal circles and their flaps; first paste the bottom flaps, let dry and then paste the top lid

To firmly paste the top lid, help yourself with a little stick to give pressure to each flap

We will need three bases of the following diameters: 11.5 cm, 9.5 cm, 7.5 cm

We wrap them with the same paper sheets

Now we have all we need, 3 circular bases, 44 little boxes and 1 base

Over the pine tree base we place the largest circular base and 12 gift boxes and we start to paste them, when finishing each level, place some books to give weight to the structure and make it stick really firm together

Here I show the number of gift boxes per level, it is very important that you place the gifts first to see the pine tree from different angles and see if they are correctly distributed, then you can paste them
