Elaborate a “papillon” bow tie for gentlemen in crochet 03/16/2018

Here I show you the opportunity to give dad a VIP treatment in Father’s Day, creating in little time a fun papillon (bow tie) in crochet and make him feel important

Materials

  • Dark thread, nevertheless, all colors are valid
  • Crochet needle
  • Embroidering needle and scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Let’s knit a rectangle of 7 cm in width and 22 cm-24 cm in length

1st round: make 7 cm of chains

2nd round: continue with single crochet

Make the necessary rounds to cover between 11 cm or 12 cm

Now we continue with the following 22 cm or 24 cm, remember the bow is double

Having the desired length and with the same thread, we close the work and turn inside out to hide this seam

Now we work on the central band, creating a rectangle of 2 cm in width by 7 cm in length, the rounds run along the 2 cm

Important: on top of the bow we will make the same folds that can be seen on the paper

We pass the needle and the same thread through the center part of the bow, without losing this shape, we stretch the thread a little and firmly close. Place the center band and close always with the same thread. Remember to hide each thread from start to finish

To put the papillon on dad, just hook it to his shirt’s buttons or use the elastic from another bow tie
