How to make a needle holder pincushion book in cross stitch 2017/11/12

On this occasion I share with you how I’ve made this needle holder book in cross stitch, a delicate and romantic gift to give away on any special event.

Its small dimension allows it to be kept in a purse or travel bag, a very useful accessory in an emergency, not just for keeping needles but also pins, buttons, thread, I hope you like it

Materials

• Aida canvas (or linen)
• Embroidering yarn in different colors
• Felt
• Ribbons
• Needless
• Scissors

A cross stitch design can be chosen for all the pincushions or customize it according to whomever the gift is for, the important thing is to follow the basic guidelines of the cross stitch to create a small composition, I’ve taken the design from Pinterest adapting the design to only 2 roses, the measurement of the fabric is 15 cm x 25 cm, which I’ve divided in 4 parts working vertically

Once the embroidering is finished, we turn the fabric and sew on the lateral sides of the rectangle folding in half, iron the back part, never iron on top of the embroidering

We cut a 13 cm x 11.5 cm piece of felt, this will shape the pincushion and will work for pining the needles

We turn the fabric, iron again marking the seams and insert the felt, we arrange the fabric on the bottom towards the inside and iron to mark the fabric

We baste the bottom part or set it with pins and close with invisible stitches

To close the book we insert the thread through both ends of the book, this will work for knotting and closing

On the inside of the book we paste a button, we insert needles and small safety pins, a cautious girl will have a useful and pretty accessory like this one in her purse
