How to make a Gummy Bouquet 2015/02/06

This way of offering gummies to our guest at a party is super original!

This bouquet can be served as a centerpiece instead of a natural flower bouquet.

We will need:

  • Many gummy packages in different shapes
  • Bamboo skewers
  • Toothpicks
  • Silk paper in the color you want
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Green crepe paper
  • Flowerpot, vase or container.

How to make it:

Open the candy packages to get an idea of the shapes and color we will have.

If you wish to give a realistic touch to your arrangement, cover the skewers with green crepe paper, cutting a strip three quarters the length of the skewer and 2-3 cm wide. Paste an end of the green paper on the skewer from the part with no tip.

Wrap the whole skewer by rolling the paper from the bottom up and until 3 fingers approximately from the pointy end. Paste the upper end of the crepe paper strip.

Then, cut a square to which you will cut the corners to form small leaves to paste on the sticks.

Wrap as many sticks corresponding to the flowers you want to create, generally 12 skewers are required for one bouquet. Before starting to make the flowers it is important to wash our hands and avoid manipulating the tips of the sticks, always keeping them clean.

Now, you can simply insert the gummies on the skewers or form a flower this way: take toothpick and begin inserting a gummy that will give the idea of a petal, then another gummy to form the center of the flower and then another gummy that will make the petal.

On top of the central gummy place a crossed toothpick and insert a gummy on each end. With another toothpick, always inserting on the center but diagonally, form the rest of the petals.

Don’t worry if the toothpicks come out, the can be cut.

Another way of making a flower is to start from the center; on the center gummy insert two toothpicks in which you will place the gummies so they look like daisy or rose petals.

This is another example

Once we are done forming all the flowers we need, place them on the table to decide the best way of distributing them on the bouquet according to the size and shape.

Arrange all the flowers this way, even using some tape (attention with the crepe paper) and form a bouquet.

Wrap the gummy flowers with silk paper to form the bouquet and place it inside a flowerpot or container.
