How to make a small Saddlebag 2016/06/10

Would you like to organize a party with a horse theme, well today I will show you how to make a simple saddlebag to give away to your guests

Materials

• Leather or imitation leather vinyl
• Leather or vinyl rope
• Hole punch, scissors
• Threads and needles
• Hammer, nail and fork

We make the mold with the following measurements and we put it on top of the vinyl, you can follow these dimensions or duplicate them if you want a bigger saddlebag

We hold the mold to the vinyl with pins, pressing with the fork we mark a pointed line that will help as a guide for sewing; if we are using leather it is necessary to perforate each point with a nail and hammer depending on the thickness; if we are using vinyl it is not necessary to perforate it because it is a soft material, so the marks are made directly on top of the vinyl.

Also we locate the following points to locate the perforations of the handle and we puncture before sewing.

We sew on the back using the saddler technique, as shown on the first photo, we turn it and we pass the handle.

Here is the finished result, we can pass through a wooden bead for the closing of the bag, the saddlebag may contain a special gift for the guests, makeup, selected candies, a small mirror.

Hay bales go well with the horse theme, horses, saddlebags, but if these are not easy to get then…
