How to create a funny chameleon 2017/06/20

Celebrate your daughter organizing a party inspired in Rapunzel

For those who know the story of Disney’s version, you will remember that the long haired princess had a little green friend, a chameleon called Pascal

Then, why not create some chameleons to give away to our guests? Here is my funny chameleon!

You’ll need:

  • Green foamy (Eva rubber) or green cardboard
  • White paper sheet
  • Stapler (or thread and needle)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Glue
  • Black marker (permanent if using rubber)
  • Party streamers

In the corner of the white sheet, draw and cut this particular 6 side figure according to the indicated measurements

Then, transfer to the foamy and cut

Cut a double number of the foamy pieces according to the number of streamers, in this case I had 5 streamers, so I cut 10 foamy figures

From the white sheet, cut strips of 20 cm x 3 cm and fold in half 3 times obtaining small accordions

Tip: check the creases well because we have to work on the square of folded paper

In the obtained square, draw a circle sufficiently big as to reach the borders, as shown in the image of step 1

Then, cut as indicated on image 2

In the end you’ll get 8 white circles (image 3). In this case I needed 10 in total

Place to foamy pieces like a ‘mirror’ and paste the paper circles at the indicated height

Draw the mouth and eyes

The permanent marker allows to draw with more clarity on the foamy

Otherwise, if you use paper, you better use a normal marker

Now we arrange the pairs...

...sew with a few stitches

Insert the streamer and here is Pascal, our chameleon!

Organize a party inspired in Rapunzel and make your little daughter happy!
