How to Dye Rice for Weddings 2016/11/11

Do you like the idea of painting the rice for your wedding?

Here I will explain to you how to do it, if you prepare it with time, you could have this detail ready and made by yourself!

Materials

• 3 kilograms of rice
• Vegetable paint/ Food coloring liquid or dust
• Water
• Spoon
• Apron

I emphasize the use of vegetable paints/food coloring, since once the rice is on the ground, birds can arrive and eat it, and this coloring will not affect them since they are the ones used when baking. Regarding the coloring, to create harmony, we will use the primary colors yellow, red and blue, adding the green

We select bulk rice or the cheapest one, let’s say that 3 kilos is enough to fill a generous amount of the rice holders.

1. Add drops of food coloring to a container.

2. Add water, this way we will have control over the necessary amount to get the wanted shade.

3. Add the rice.

4. Let it rest and check every once in a while to see if the rice has the wanted shade

The amounts I have used are 3 drops of food coloring per ½ cup of water.

We drain and place the rice on top of some cardboard; the longer it is in the water the stronger your shade will be.

If the wedding theme has a particular color, then test the quantity of coloring and times until you achieve the color you want.

You can use one or many colors; here I have made many combinations so you can appreciate the final effect.

Prepare the rice and display it in cones, place them inside a nice decorated basket outside the church or the place of marriage

When the guests come out they will take the rice to throw it at the couple wishing them abundance!
