How to Make Cement Plant Pots 2016/12/16

For those who love gardening and DIY, elaborating this party favors will be a true delight and also you’ll surely please your guests

Materials

  • Diverse containers we will use as bases
  • Cement
  • Water
  • Dirt and Succulents

About the containers, I suggest liquid soap, shampoo, big yogurt containers and for the inner containers disposable cups and individual yogurt cups

Make sure that between the selected containers a thickness of at least 1.5 cm forms

We will require 2 parts cement by 1 of water, make the mixture in a separate tub. Start filling the molds, compacting the cement to remove the air

It’s not necessary to add to much mixture, leave a hole in the middle

Here is where we will insert the inner cup making sure that it’s centered and deep

Remove the excess cement giving a good finish since this will be the final shape

Dry the plant pots under the sun, time and patience is required here, it’ll be best to let 15 to 20 days go by; because of the haste I had take out a pot after 4 or 5 days and it crumbled, for this reason I suggest you leave them as long as possible, patience!

The color of the cement must be the following shade, to de mold you’ll need to cut the plastic, don’t worry since it’s achieved it’s mission

We fill them with dirt and plant the selected plant

Succulents are ideal plants for these pots, since they don’t need holes on the bottom, the cement trasmines the excess humidity

To adequate our pots for the party, we can put customized pennants on them and display the whole ensamble on the gift table for the guests

Pleasure to make your party special
