How to Make Crochet Flowers for Centerpieces in Parties 2016/11/08

Today we will work on a beautiful flower that will work for us as a decoration for centerpieces for girl parties, baby showers or to simply decorate the bedrooms of young ladies.

Materials

  • Lilac long-staple wool or the shade of the event
  • Adequate needle according to the indications of the wool
  • Different colored buttons
  • Wadding
  • Base to place the flower
  • Wooden stick for the stem
  • Green ribbon to wrap the stem
  • Embroidery needle blunt
  • Scissors

I have followed the next roughly designed scheme, this way I will be able to better explain the execution and it will be easier to follow the instructions, I confess that I prefer following diagrams

We begin with a magic ring

1º round: make 3 chain stitches and 19 double crochet

Round 2 – 5: as shown in the diagram, make 3 chain stitches, then make 1 double crochet on the first double crochet make a predecessor round and 2 double crochets on the last double crochet of the predecessor round, make 2 chain stitches in the air, repeat 5 times

Close with a single stitch

Make at least 5 rounds, but if the wool or thread you’ve chosen is thinner, you will need to make some more rounds to get 12 – 14 cm.

Make 2 pieces with the same measurements.

Start closing using the same wool and a slip stitch, fill with waddle and close.

With the embroidering needle and the same wool, we will form each petal of the flower, passing the needle through the center hole and in between each petal.

We tighten the wool enough to shape each one of the petals and we knot to keep this shape set.

I have tried each one of the buttons to see which one fits better for the color and size of the flower. In the end I have selected a pink button, even though the wooden and blue one also looked okay to my taste.

To the wooden stick, we wrap it with the grass green ribbon and carefully insert it between the petals, it is not necessary to use glue, but the tip of the stick must be flat to avoid anyone getting hurt. For this occasion I have selected this can without painting it to give a chic style, although we could also paint it with many colors.

Decorate your little one's birthday party preparing many flowers in crochet to place them on tables at the event. On the main table, place a customized Centerpiece in which to set the flowers on
