BEACH AND GOOD MANNERS: HOW TO BEHAVE 2015/06/26

Summer… means end of school, summer programs, games in the fresh air, sun, walks and beach…

The ocean is very good for everyone and because it belongs to everyone we have to make sure that vacations are relaxing for us and the next beach umbrella neighbor, to not fall into uncomfortable moments or discussions

In the name of respect for others and the environment that surrounds us, let’s go over some etiquette rules for the beach…

• If our child is old enough, let’s try to make them responsible of their own games and toys, make them carry them in a backpack or bag. They will learn to select everything they can carry on their shoulders, these will be more than enough for their stay at the beach!

• Remember to teach your children the concept of “noise”. Us too, as adults, let’s talk in a low volume voice. The fresh air amplifies noise… if your children use a portable video game, ask them to keep it in silence and us parents, first, must give a good example by lowering mobile phone ringtone!

• Napkins, food leftovers, ice cream cups, water bottles, straws, cigarette buds, etc. must be thrown into garbage bins. Always vary a trash bag and go putting all of your residues there, at the end of the day just deposit these bags in specific garbage bins (glass, aluminum, organic, etc.)

• Movement games: welcome to the games with the sand cubes of the child of the beach umbrella next to us, but playing with a ball at the edge of the ocean may cause certain inconveniences for the passers-by or those who want to quietly sleep… The same thing happens with water gun battles.

• Sand castles are entertaining and fun, but before starting, cover the holes and tunnels children love to build… you don’t run at the beach and ocean towels are shook off very carefully to not throw sand on the people around you.

• It is very enjoyable and fun to play at the beach and also in the water, nevertheless we always have to do it with maximum precaution, be careful with pushing into the water pranks since this is very dangerous.

• The need to go to the bathroom is done in established public restrooms: not the ocean or the beach.
